ICO reports current coffee supply remains sufficient

The International Coffee Organisation, in its monthly report, stated that the recent rally in coffee prices underwent a notable reversal in November 2016, attributed to improved weather prospects in Brazil and Vietnam and a concurrent depreciation in the Brazilian real.

Peet’s Coffee to build roastery in Virginia

Peet’s Coffee announced that it is building a 175,000-square foot roastery in Suffolk, Virginia; its first on the East Coast. The project will create 135 new jobs in the Commonwealth.

Colombian Coffee production increased 25% in November

The Colombian Coffee Growers Federation (FNC) announced that coffee production surged 25% in the month of November, registering nearly 1.7 million bags (60-kilograms each). Production in November 2015 reached 1.3 million bags.
