King Cake reigns supreme during Mardi Gras at PJ’s Coffee

PJ’s Coffee of New Orleans is aiming to spread the spirit of Carnival with a selection of hot and cold seasonal beverages in the form of King Cake Latte, King Cake Protein Velvet Ice, and Zulu Coconut Iced Mocha. Customers can enjoy a taste of the New Orleans tradition at all 145 locations nationwide, available now through to Mardi Gras Day (1 March 2022). Guests can also satisfy their sweet tooth – New Orleans style – with a slice of king cake, on the menu at select PJ’s locations across the country.

“As PJ’s continues to grow, we hope to share our unique New Orleans Mardi Gras traditions with guests across the country,” says Felton Jones, PJ’s Coffee roastmaster. “Customers can savour the flavours of the Carnival season like the famed coconut throws from the Krewe of Zulu or hints of cinnamon found in traditional king cakes.”

PJ’s Coffee of New Orleans Mardi Gras flavours include:

  • King Cake Latte: Made with rich Espresso Dolce, steamed milk and flavours of vanilla and cinnamon, topped with whipped cream and purple sanding sugar.
  • King Cake Protein Velvet Ice: King Cake cold brew concentrate, skim milk, no sugar added vanilla powder and protein powder.
  • Zulu Coconut Iced Mocha: PJ’s classic Viennese blend cold brew paired with milk, Hershey’s syrup and coconut concentrate served over ice.

PJ’s Coffee serves a complete line of espresso-based beverages using only the top 1% of Arabica beans, as well as organic tea and fresh baked pastries and desserts. The gourmet coffee is small-batched roasted, sourced from 14 origins from Sumatra to Ethiopia and Colombia to Papua New Guinea. The brand is also focused on direct trade, working with adopted farms Finca Terrerito in Honduras and Agua Fresca in Nicaragua.
