Caffè Nero Celebrates Loyalty App with Free Coffee

Multinational coffeehouse chain, Caffè Nero, is giving away 10,000 complimentary coffees this October to celebrate 10 million stamps being awarded to customers through its year-old loyalty payment app.

Every customer who pays via the Caffè Nero mobile app between Wednesday, 10 and Saturday, 20 October 2018 will automatically have a chance of winning one of 10,000 free drinks.

“10 million stamps is a major milestone for our business and we’re extremely proud. Since launching the app last year, we’ve had over half a million downloads, with customers earning over 1 million free drinks,” says Marcus Denison-Smith, head of marketing at London, England-based Caffè Nero. “We wanted to mark the occasion by rewarding our loyal customers the best way we know how – more free coffees on us.”

To enter, every time a customer makes a transaction via the Caffè Nero app that includes a hot drink between 10-20 October 2018 will receive a digital Caffè Nero ‘Wheel of Fortune’ – they then spin the wheel to find out if they’ve won.

Powered by digital payment service Yoyo Wallet, the Caffè Nero app is available on Android and iOS phones. Unlike other high street coffee house loyalty programmes, the technology allows customers to link their debit or credit card to the app for secure and speedy payment, by scanning a QR code generated on their phone. The app then rewards customers with a free drink for every nine stamps they collect, plus additional, tailored offers along the way. Customers can also find their nearest Caffè Nero store by use the in-app location finder.

For customers looking for a reusable cup, Caffè Nero has recently launched the KeepCup. The cup, lid and plug are recyclable, while the band made from recycled cork, can be composted at the end of its life. Customers can unlock a free coffee voucher when purchasing a KeepCup and will then receive double stamps each time they use it, making the app even better value.

New users of the Caffè Nero app can also get their first coffee free if they use the promotional code ‘WELCOMETONERO2018’.
