The British Coffee Association (BCA), at its recent Annual General Meeting, adopted a revised set of Arbitration Rules which took effect on 1 April 2026.

The BCA Arbitration Service has seen considerable activity over the past few years, and the rules review will continue to ensure the service retains its position as a leading coffee arbitration process globally.

The new rules take effect on all arbitrations which commence on or after 1st April, whilst any existing Tribunals and/or Boards of Appeal will continue to operate under the previous rules.

Alongside the rules update, BCA is working on an updated suite of training opportunities, including the development of an online training platform which will aim to offer a range of short training courses which participants can undertake remotely, with further details to be available later in the year.
