Air New Zealand has taken its love of coffee to new heights serving its new bespoke blend, Carry On, straight through the flight deck window at Queenstown Airport in a world-first moment.
The airline teamed up with Kiwi roasters Coffee Supreme to deliver the new blend. To celebrate the launch day, the fly-thru coffee pop-up delivered a fresh cup of Carry On straight through the flight deck window to the pilots of an A320 jet landing in Queenstown. Additionally, customers on flight NZ0600 from Queenstown to Wellington on the launch day were given a personalised bag of Carry On to take home.
Air New Zealand chief customer and digital officer Jeremy O’Brien said the airline is always looking for ways to elevate its service and is proud to be supporting a local business.
“There are few things that say ‘New Zealand’ quite like a great cup of coffee. Partnering with Coffee Supreme means we’re not just serving coffee onboard – we’re offering the very best of New Zealand to our customers.
He added, “Air New Zealand has a unique opportunity to showcase New Zealand products and brands wherever we fly around the world. It’s a privilege to back a local business that shares our passion for quality, care and innovation, and together we’re proudly pouring a taste of home for our customers around the globe.”
Coffee Supreme CEO Andrew Low commented, “We’ve spent three decades chasing better coffee on the ground, now we’re chasing it at altitude. We’re proud as punch to be partnering with Air New Zealand so travellers can enjoy the same care and quality we pour into every cup at 30,000 feet as they do today at their local café or at home.”
Roasted to taste just as good in the air as it does on the ground, Carry On takes New Zealand’s iconic coffee culture sky-high. With notes of dark chocolate, malt biscuit and maple, it’s smooth, full-bodied, and designed to hold its own long after take-off.
Coffee Supreme’s Carry On blend is now available in Air New Zealand lounges across New Zealand, Australia and the Pacific Islands and onboard in premium cabins. The coffee will become available in economy and across the domestic network by the end of the month as existing product is phased out.
