WatchHouse celebrates the opening of its new Borough House. As a major opening for the London-founded specialty coffee brand, the launch marks WatchHouse’s arrival in one of the city’s most celebrated culinary districts. Set across two floors with 30 covers, WatchHouse’s latest outpost stands opposite Borough Market to welcome thousands of daily visitors, tourists and workers on the short walk from London Bridge station.

Known for its architectural-led coffee Houses, WatchHouse’s new opening, envisioned by CAKE Architecture, is deeply rooted in the character of London Bridge and Borough Market. On entry, guests are welcomed by WatchHouse’s signature espresso bar, finished in stainless steel and wrapped in dark blue quarry tiles that anchor the space with warmth and depth. Standing tables across the ground floor reference Europe’s standing café culture, inviting guests to pause for a quick espresso or linger momentarily as the energy of Borough unfolds outside. At the rear of the House, an intimate alcove has been designed for guided tastings, offering a dedicated setting to explore WatchHouse’s menu of specialty coffees and Rarities.

Roland Horne, founder & CEO of WatchHouse, said: “Borough has long been one of London’s most iconic destinations, as a place where food, craftsmanship and community have come together for generations. Opening a House near to the historic market marks a milestone in WatchHouse’s journey and we are excited to join the neighbourhood, which represents the best of London’s culinary scene. Not only does this new opening reflect the history and character of its surroundings, but it also reflects WatchHouse’s dedication to carving out unique coffee experiences for our guests across the capital”.

WatchHouse’s latest opening on Borough High Street continues the brand’s ethos of pouring some of the world’s finest and most innovative coffees in distinctively designed coffee houses, with a focus on upholding the quality, flavour and craftsmanship of coffee. It also marks WatchHouse’s continued work with CAKE Architecture, following the successful opening of WatchHouse’s Millennium Bridge location earlier this year.
