Miko is further expanding its operations in Scandinavia with the acquisition of a 75 percent stake in Kronen Kaffe, an established coffee service specialist based in Stavanger, Norway’s third-largest city. With this strategic acquisition, Miko is strengthening its position in the Norwegian market and taking an important step towards achieving nationwide coverage.
Kronen Kaffe specialises in supplying coffee, professional coffee machines, water coolers and vending solutions to businesses. The company employs six staff and generates an annual turnover of approximately €3 million. Miko is already active in Norway through its subsidiary KaAebryggeriet, which mainly serves customers in the east of the country, along the Trondheim–Hamar–Oslo corridor. Thanks to the acquisition of Kronen Kaffe, Miko now also has a branch on the economically important west coast, opening up a new geographical market area.
Karl Hermans, CEO of Miko, explained, “The Norwegian market is strategically very important to us, as high margins are still being achieved there. At the same time, there is a strong focus on sustainability and quality — two values that are part of Miko’s DNA. With Kronen Kaffe, we are taking an important step towards establishing a national presence in Norway.” The acquisition is in line with Miko’s long-term strategy to further expand its international coffee service operations in markets with strong growth potential and a clear demand for high-quality and sustainable coffee solutions.
