The Coffein Compagnie sees, within a generally growing worldwide demand for decaffeinated coffee, a rising interest in its pure water decaffeination-process. In reaction to these developments, it is expanding its production capacities for the Hanseatic Water Process.
Jens Eckhoff, managing director of Coffein Compagnie, commented, “Whether it is the quality of the taste profiles, the pure water concept, or most likely both, we recognise a growing demand for our Hanseatic Water Process. Consequently, we decided to double our production capacities for our water decaffeination to reliably supply our customers with the quality and the choices they expect from us.”
One pillar of the Bremen, Germany-based company’s leading position in the worldwide market is to deliver high quality decaffeinated coffee produced with the process their customers choose. In order to fulfill this promise today as well as in the future, the company continuously invests in developing its production capacities and technologies.
All the processes are run with the production and engineering know-how built up over almost a century. The company-owned water decaffeination process is a gentle extraction method based on natural sources and designed to keep the aroma of the original coffee in the final product. It uses only pure water without any additional extracts. This approach secures the pureness of the origin of the coffee and the individual character for each processed batch. Additionally, it allows for a consistent traceability of each coffee.
“We believe that different coffees are distinct by their origin and individuality,” said Jana Köster, director of process engineering. “Our responsibility is to preserve these characteristics and taste profiles throughout the entire process.”
