Grumpy Mule, the independent Yorkshire specialty coffee roastery has launched a new limited-edition range, Fresh Crop, available in stores and online.

Fresh Crop brings standout single-origin coffees scouted from the latest harvests directly to your mug, roasted in Yorkshire at peak freshness, and packed with bold, distinctive flavour.

Each batch is handpicked for its vibrant character and released for a limited time, following the rhythm of the global coffee harvest. Every four months, a fresh seasonal origin drops, giving customers a reason to return for a cup of the next edition.

The first edition in the Fresh Crop series hails from Nicaragua’s northern highlands, where 2,700 smallholder farmers from the PRODECOOP cooperative grow and produce exceptional Fairtrade beans.

The result is a smooth, seasonal roast with notes of caramelised sugar, toasted almond, and milk chocolate — a coffee that’s as rich in flavour as it is in purpose.

And it’s not just about the taste, PRODECOOP’s farmers reinvest their profits into community projects that improve livelihoods, fund schools, provide clean water, and empower women-led enterprises.

In February 2026, Fresh Crop will feature beans from Brazil’s high-altitude farms, delivering a velvety, chocolate-rich cup. By June, the journey moves to Ethiopia for a vibrant, fruit-forward roast with floral and citrus notes, celebrating the country’s legendary coffee heritage. Each seasonal batch is available for a limited run, encouraging customers to return for the next origin release and experience coffee at their seasonal best.

Lorraine Kelleher, marketing controller at Grumpy Mule, said, “Fresh Crop is about coffee at its peak. Each season we scout for the most vibrant beans we can find, sourced from farmers committed to quality and sustainability, and roast them slowly in Yorkshire to bring out their full character. Every mug tells the story of the land, the people, and the season. It’s coffee that’s alive with flavour, and it’s made for anyone who wants to experience coffee at its most exciting.”

Like all Grumpy Mule coffee, Fresh Crop is specialty-grade 100% Arabica, ethically sourced, and roasted in small batches at the brand’s Meltham roastery in Yorkshire. Every roast is cupped and checked to make sure every mug tastes as kick-ass as the last.

Fresh Crop will be stocked alongside Grumpy Mule’s existing lines and can be purchased at Waitrose (including Little Waitrose), and from the Grumpy Mule website at £6.60 ($8.64) per 200g pack.
