Angelino’s Coffee, based in Los Angeles, has announced the launch
of its Cup of Excellence (COE) Collection, the first-ever release to unite 16 of the highest-scoring coffees on earth, all winners of the world’s most prestigious coffee competition.
For the first time in coffee history, everyday coffee lovers can experience multiple number-one-ranked Cup of Excellence-winning coffees, including rare Geishas and expertly processed Bourbons, in one elegant, limited-edition variety collection. Available in whole bean and Keurig compatible pods, this launch redefines how elite, competition-winning coffees can be experienced at home.
“These coffees are usually reserved for elite buyers in Japan, Saudi Arabia, or
Michelin-starred establishments,” said Angelino’s founder, Kirk Bedrossian.
“We’ve done something no one else has, brought them all together and made them accessible to everyone.”
The launch begins with the first of six curated releases, spotlighting a trio of champions from Honduras, Costa Rica, and Peru.
- Honduras: La Salsa by Benjamin Paz Muñoz — Santa Bárbara – Variety: Geisha | Process: Washed | Score: 91.21 – A household name in specialty coffee, Benjamin is known for his role in elevating Santa Bárbara to global acclaim with his award-winning Geishas and commitment to excellence.
- Costa Rica: Don Cayito by Luis Ricardo Calderón Madrigal — Tarrazú – Variety: Geisha | Process: Honey | Score: 93.62 – One of the most consistent Cup of Excellence winners in Costa Rica, Don Cayito produced the highest-scoring coffee of the entire year, representing the pinnacle of precision and craftsmanship from the iconic Tarrazú region.
- Peru: El Mirador by Miguel Padilla Chinguel — Cajamarca – Variety: Caturra, Bourbon, Geisha | Process: Washed | Score: 90.54 – A vibrant expression of Peru’s rising status in specialty coffee, this lot from Cajamarca balances clarity, sweetness and floral complexity, showcasing the terroir’s incredible potential.
To bring out the full potential of each lot, Angelino’s partnered with US Roasting Champion and Houston Regional Champion, Rudy Altamirano, who worked alongside founder Kirk Bedrossian to develop custom roast profiles. With Altamirano’s celebrated expertise, each coffee was carefully dialled in to highlight its most expressive characteristics, from delicate florals and
tropical fruit to deep complexity and silky sweetness.
To support this unprecedented level of roasting precision, Angelino’s invested in two Roastronix roasters, an SX9 for production and an SX7 for profiling and R&D in the lab. These state-of-the-art machines offer fine control over airflow, drum speed, and thermal energy, allowing the team to tailor every curve and development phase for optimal flavour expression, an essential capability for coffees of this caliber.
Further elevating the experience, Angelino’s implemented a dedicated canning and filling line to deliver these coffees in custom-labeled aluminium cans and bespoke collector boxes, ensuring the final presentation reflects the rarity and beauty of what’s inside.
“It’s not just about tasting the best,” said Bedrossian. “It’s about honouring the people behind every bean, and inviting more people to share in their success.”
The Angelino’s Cup of Excellence Collection is now available exclusively at angelinos.com, while supplies last. Future releases will continue to unveil new champions, with six total collections planned, each one capturing the very best of a different coffee-producing country.
