Flavourtech named 2021 Murray Riverina Business of the Year

Business NSW has announced the winners for the Business NSW 2021 Murray Riverina Business Awards.

Australia, Griffith-based company Flavourtech, took out the 2021 Murray Riverina Business of the Year Award at a ceremony held online in front of over 150 business leaders, including NSW Minister for Finance and Small Business, the Hon. Damien Tudehope.

Flavourtech is a global technology manufacturer specialising in aroma recovery, extraction and evaporation solutions for food, beverage and pharmaceutical industries.

Commenting on the company’s win, Leon Skaliotis, general manager, Flavourtech said, “It was a fantastic honour to receive these awards tonight. It allows the whole Flavourtech family to celebrate as it shows them that their efforts over the last 18 months, during what were very challenging conditions, have been recognised.

“The win is a culmination of the resilience, effort and faith shown by the entire Flavourtech team. Recognition by Business NSW increases our credentials with customers as an Australian exporter, allowing us to continue to expand our business globally. We now supply to leading food, beverage and pharmaceutical brands and are well positioned to assist beverage manufacturers in the rapidly growing zero-alcohol market.”

“The 2021 Murray Riverina Business Awards recognise growth, entrepreneurship, innovation and celebrate business success and resilience. This year’s winners should feel incredibly proud to be named as the region’s leading businesses and leaders for 2021,” said Business NSW regional manager Anthony McFarlane said.

“The awards celebrated the success of hard-working Murray Riverina Businesses. A well-deserved spotlight was shone on 80 finalists who have shown how their resilience, creativity and sheer hard work have seen them through a challenging year.

“The past 18 months have been incredibly challenging as businesses have been impacted not only by Covid restrictions and border closures but also supply chain constraints and strong competition for talented staff.

“These awards are a wonderful opportunity to showcase the ingenuity, dynamism and resilience of Murray Riverina businesses. The future is bright!” concluded Mr McFarlane.

With the support of Primary Regional Sponsor Port of Melbourne and its other partners including North of the Murray, NAB, RSM Australia, SunRice, Calabria Family Wines, NBN Co, Optus, and the NSW Government, Business NSW delivered a full celebratory experience straight into offices and homes across the region.

Winners of the 2021 Murray Riverina Business Awards will now go onto represent the region at the NSW Business Awards to be held in late November.
