Joffrey’s Coffee & Tea Company searches for new flavour in coffee contest

Joffrey’s Coffee & Tea Company, a Tampa-based coffee roaster and one of the first specialty coffee roasters in the Southeast United States, has launched its annual Flavour Originator Contest.

Through the contest, Joffrey’s encourages fans to submit their ideas and help the coffee company decide on the flavour for its next flavoured coffee. Fans can choose from a variety of flavours and ingredients, vote on the most popular flavour combinations, and even vote on a label and name for the new coffee.

On National Coffee Day (Tuesday 29 September), Joffrey’s will launch the winning flavour, and select five random winners who will receive a free bag of Joffrey’s coffee every month for one year. The winning flavour will be added to Joffrey’s Flavoured Coffee Collection and will be available for purchase on all year round. This is the third year Joffrey’s is running the contest, with past flavours going on to become best-sellers.

“The Flavour Originator Contest is something we look forward to every year,” said Joffrey’s head roastmaster, Chris de Mezzo. “It’s a great way to make our fans part of the process and we look forward to receiving input on the flavours they want to see from us. Last year our winning flavour was Cocoa Cookie Oats and it quickly became one of our most popular flavoured coffees – we can’t wait to see what this year’s contest brings!”
