Illy Engages Coffee Lovers with #Thanks4thecoffee Campaign

Illycaffè, the Italian family coffee roaster founded in Trieste in 1933, is celebrating National Coffee Day for more than just one day with the launch of its second #thanks4thecoffee campaign, honouring and giving thanks to coffee growers – the first, vital actors in the coffee production chain. The campaign establishes a direct channel of communication between the many people who drink coffee and coffee growers all over the world, which illy believes is an important factor in maintaining a long-term sustainable model.

Between 15 Sept and 15 October, coffee lovers can participate by leaving a thank you message for growers on their social channels (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram) using #thanks4thecoffee and #sweepstakes. Illy will collect all the messages and deliver them personally to its coffee growers in Brazil, Guatemala, Ethiopia, Colombia, Costa Rica, India, El Salvador, Tanzania and Nicaragua.

Coffee lovers will be entered for a chance to win a trip for two to the winning country of origin based on the Ernesto Illy International Coffee Award – an award announced on 16 October that recognizes top quality coffee growers who produce the best beans in the coffee paradises across the world. The winner of the #thanks4thecoffee contest will have a chance to personally thank the grower on their trip. Additionally, 10 first prize winners will receive a cup set from the illy Art Collection.

Over seven million cups of illy’s unique 100% Arabica blend, made with coffee from nine different origins, are served each day in homes and offices, and at the finest cafés, restaurants and hotels in 140 countries.
