B-Corp British tea brand, NutraTea, is expanding its range of functional teas with the launch of two herbal blends inspired by ancient wisdom, modern wellness trends and as a response to growing customer demand for ashwagandha, yerba mate and gotu kola.
Designed to encourage mental balance and overall physical wellbeing while balancing glucose levels, the new NutraTea Moringa Leaf and Ashwagandha, blend ashwagandha, also known as ‘Indian ginseng’, famed for its ability to reduce stress and anxiety, improve sleep, support cognitive function and strengthen immunity with moringa leaf, which is a good source of vitamins A, C and E, calcium, potassium, protein and antioxidants like quercetin and chlorogenic acid.
Ashwagandha has exploded on TikTok and Instagram as the go-to supplement for stress reduction, hormone health and even muscle tone.
The new NutraTea Yerba Mate & Gotu Kola is a South American-inspired blend that delivers a clean caffeine kick thanks to yerba mate, long praised for enhancing focus and mental clarity — no jitters attached.
Beloved by biohackers, TikTokers and even footballer Lionel Messi, Yerba Mate is fast becoming Gen Z’s drink of choice in the alt-caffeine movement. Paired with Gotu Kola, a botanical favoured in Ayurvedic and traditional Chinese medicine for its brain-boosting benefits.
The global functional tea market is expected to experience steady growth over the next decade, driven by increasing consumer interest in health and wellness. It is predicted to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 6% over the next 10 years per Stellar Market Research Functional Tea Market. According to Mintel, 48 percent of UK consumers now regularly enjoy herbal and functional teas.
Commenting on the functional tea market, Anish Patel, co-founder of NutraTea, said, “The functional tea trend is gaining momentum, especially here in the UK where consumers’ drinking habits are continuing to pivot away from caffeine and alcohol. Now is the time to lean in and listen to what customers are researching and reaching for so it felt right to further extend the range with these two new trending blends.”
NutraTea was founded in 2020 by brothers Anish and Mikesh Patel, whose family heritage is steeped in health and wellness traditions. Its herbal blends are developed using only ethical and sustainable botanical ingredients, with no artificial additives or bulking agents. Drawing on his family background, along with his expertise as a qualified pharmacist, Anish, together with his brother, formulate each blend to reflect the Ayurvedic principles they were raised with — combining time-honoured wisdom with modern functionality.
All the teas contain 100 percent active, high-quality herbal ingredients with no flavourings or fillers, with polyphenol combinations that support positive wellness. The tea bags are vegan-friendly and plastic-free and offer true sustainability — each bag is designed to be used two to three times without compromising on flavour or efficacy.
The new blends have launched on NutraTea’s website, TikTok shop, Amazon, and across independent health food stores and pharmacies across the UK. MSRP is £5.99 for a box of 20 biodegradable tea bags.
