Manatee Coffee, a family-owned roastery founded in Florida, has announced a new partnership with the Jacksonville Zoo and Botanical Gardens. This collaboration comes at a tide-turning time as the Zoo expands its manatee care efforts, including the enhancement of its existing Manatee Critical Care Centre and the development of the new 330,000 gallon J. Wayne and Delores Barr Weaver Manatee River Habitat – aligning with the coffee company’s mission to protect these gentle mammals through increased awareness, education, and rehabilitation.

“Partnering with Jacksonville Zoo and Botanical Gardens is a significant milestone for us,” said Brad Gutwein, CEO at Manatee Coffee. “As the Zoo expands its commitment to manatee care through its upcoming habitat and Critical Care Centre, we’re honoured to support an institution that shares our dedication. Every sip of Manatee Coffee helps support the incredible researchers and staff working to protect these gentle giants for future generations.”

Currently undergoing a major “Rezoovination,” Jacksonville Zoo and Botanical Gardens is reimagining the guest experience with a redesigned entrance that combines education, conservation, and premium hospitality. One of its main features will be Manatee River—a new habitat showcasing Florida’s most iconic marine mammals and the vibrant ecosystem they call home. While construction is ongoing, Manatee Coffee’s support helps buoy initiatives like this and strengthens shared efforts to protect and care for these animals.

“Our vision for the manatee developments at the Zoo is grounded in collaboration and impact,” said Nikki Smith, Jacksonville Zoo and Botanical Gardens chief philanthropy and marketing officer. “We’re grateful to work with like-minded partners like Manatee Coffee, whose support amplifies our efforts and engages the community in conservation.”

Since its inception, Manatee Coffee has built its brand on a mission to support manatees and their habitats. Through a quarterly giving program, Manatee Coffee donates a portion of its proceeds to partners directly aiding in manatee rescue, rehabilitation, and habitat preservation. To date, Manatee Coffee has contributed $84,000 to these partners.

Manatee Coffee uses premium, high-grade coffee beans sourced from higher elevations in coffee-growing regions to produce a satisfying, rich body of complex flavours. Known for its unique roasting process, Manatee Coffee is beloved for its low-acidity coffee, including its most popular, Caribbean Delight, which contains hints of coconut, hazelnut, and caramel. Manatee Coffee is available via the website ManateeCoffee.com, The Fresh Market, and all Costco locations throughout Florida.
