Kauai Coffee Company has announced the official signing of a new agricultural lease with Brue Baukol Capital Partners (BBCP), successfully securing the future of the historic 3,100-acre farm.

“Kauai Coffee has always belonged to the people of Kauai, and that will never change,” said Brian Kubicki, general manager, Kauai Coffee Company. “Our appreciation for the overwhelming outpouring of support and aloha from our community can’t be overstated. We are proud to say that our roots remain exactly where they belong, our team is entirely secure and we are actively looking forward to bringing even more job opportunities to our local community as we grow.”

The new lease allows Kauai Coffee to now focus on a forward-looking growth strategy, fully leveraged by its parent company, Massimo Zanetti Beverage USA (MZB-USA), which is part of the global Massimo Zanetti Beverage Group.

“Our role at MZB-USA is to serve as a strong foundational backbone for Kauai Coffee, providing the national scale and robust distribution network needed to protect and amplify what makes this farm so special,” said Matthew Smith, president of Massimo Zanetti Beverage USA. “We believe completely in the local team, the community and the land. By securing this long-term lease, we’re ensuring that the local operation has the stability and support it needs to thrive and continue growing the finest coffee in America.”

The new lease guarantees the continuity of Kauai Coffee’s core values:

  • Total Job Preservation: Keeping all local employees employed under the leadership of the island team.

  • Uncompromised Stewardship: Sustained commitment to the land as a dedicated steward of Important Agricultural Lands, maintaining the farm’s global Fair Trade, Rainforest Alliance and Non-GMO Project certifications.

  • Direct Community Investment: Safeguarding the continuation of the Fair Trade Community Development program, which has already injected more than $640,000 directly back into local West Side community projects.

  • Agritourism Stability: Uninterrupted operations at one of Kauai’s most beloved visitor destinations, which will continue to welcome locals and tourists alike for Kauai Coffee farm tours and a world-class coffee shop experience.

  • Future Employment Growth: Strategic investments in farm technology, machinery and visitor experiences aimed at creating new local positions. Upcoming hiring initiatives will focus on vital skilled trades to support the farm’s modernisation, including roles for welders, electricians, general mechanics and machinery operators, alongside new hospitality jobs.

Now that a new lease is in place, the local team at Kauai Coffee is eager to refocus entirely on what they do best: growing and roasting world-class coffee right here on the west side of Kauai. Many residents have asked how they can continue to support the farm now that the new lease is signed. The company invites everyone to stop by the Visitor Center, share the good news with friends and neighbors and continue supporting local agriculture by drinking Kauai Coffee. The Visitor Center is open daily from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
