Nespresso launches French Lavender & Vanilla decaffeinato pods

As January ushers in chilly days and wintery evenings, and a renewed desire to slow things down with intentional regimes and resolutions, Nespresso unveils French Lavender & Vanilla Decaffeinato – a new limited-edition Vertuo pod that’s perfect for morning, noon or night.

Following the success of 2025’s Sweet Vanilla Decaffeinato, the pod blends high quality decaffeinated Arabica beans with subtle vanilla and floral French lavender notes. The new release brings a gentle, aromatic depth that highlights the sweetness of the bean itself. 

The launch arrives as decaffeinated coffee becomes an increasingly popular part of UK coffee routines. Nearly half (44.7%) of UK consumers now drink decaf at home, and decaf drinkers are more likely to enjoy multiple cups a day than those who choose caffeinated coffee. This trend is being led by Gen Z, who are increasingly turning to flavoured and indulgent caffeine-free options to support calmer evenings and more mindful rituals.

The smooth, 100% arabica base blend is made of beans sourced from Brazil and Colombia, with the Latin American beans roasted medium dark and quickly to develop sweetness. The other coffees are roasted a bit longer to develop a velvety texture, with flavour added in after roasting. This new blend uses Nespresso’s bespoke decaffeinated base with a special split-roast technique, enhancing natural sweetness and delivering a velvety texture, with the French lavender adding a subtle floral lift.

Designed to suit a variety of tastes and evening rituals, French Lavender & Vanilla Decaffeinato offers versatility beyond the traditional night-time cup.

Keep it classic: Brew black to fully enjoy the delicate aromatics and soft vanilla notes – an easy way to sip a moment of ease at the end of the day. 

Reverso it: For a creamier serve try it Reverso – a Nespresso special that consists of pouring coffee onto cold milk. Simply add 50ml of cold cow’s milk then extract 230ml of coffee on top to get a sweet, smooth cup with vanilla and lavender notes.

Cold Days, Colder Coffee: Make an icedoption by using Creations Mode (double click – available on some Vertuo machines) to prepare an intense shorter cup – perfect for an iced coffee. Add 180g of ice cubes and 180ml of cold cow’s milk to the mug, then double tap your Vertuo machine’s button to extract 80ml of coffee over the top. Watch the floral French lavender and vanilla notes shine through.
