This June, specialty coffee shop and roastery, Kiss the Hippo, opens their fifth London café in central Fitzrovia. The new café opens after the company’s success in Richmond, Kings Cross, Shoreditch and its flagship location also in Fitzrovia.

Kiss the Hippo, a name which was chosen to reflect the company’s ethos of love and passion towards nature, is London’s first carbon negative coffee company. Kiss the Hippo sources its organic planet-friendly beans ethically, roasts the coffee at its own London roastery, and it has an ongoing partnership with On A Mission with a number of reforestation projects around the world.

June also marks five years since the first Kiss the Hippo café opened in Richmond, which at the time also housed the coffee roastery on site. The years that followed have seen the company win the UK Barista championships three times, and open multiple locations.

“Kiss the Hippo Coffee was established in 2018 to source, roast and serve the most outstanding coffees the world has to offer by taking the utmost care with each of these steps along the way,” commented C Eren, founder, Kiss the Hippo.

The coffee brand also offers its customers compostable pods, coffee bags, equipment, a subscription service and coffee workshops such as a Latte art course and home brewing course.

The Fitzrovia Corner Café, which has both indoor and outdoor seating, will serve house blend coffee, with tasting notes of chocolate, butterscotch and berries, and rotating single origin coffees of Espresso based drinks, Drip Coffee, Chai Latte, Matcha Latte, Hot Chocolate and Teas along with pastries and sweet treats.

The new site is situated at 36 Berners Street, London, W1T 3LX.
