illy thanks coffee producers on International Coffee Day
Every year on International Coffee Day, illycaffè celebrates by extending a special thank you to all the coffee growers around the world as part of their #Thanks4TheCoffee initiative.
This year being an unprecedented historical time, Trieste, Italy-based illy is extending the thanks even further with a dedication to friendship and nod to the ability coffee has to bring people together in a shared social ritual – one that knows no borders and unites us across the globe. Mirroring the iconic Italian gesture of simulating sipping from a cup of coffee by bringing one’s hands to one’s lips as an invitation to have a coffee together, illy is inviting coffee lovers to extend their own invitation to a friend with #illyCoffeeTogether.
In an effort to bring us all together virtually, anyone who wants to thank family, friends, neighbourhood baristas, coffee growers, and more, can share a photo simulating the gesture of drinking coffee tagging @illy_coffee or using the hashtag #illyCoffeeTogether. At the end of October, the best contributions will be featured in a video celebrating these friendships that will be made available on illy’s social media channels.
