SCA Cancels World of Coffee Warsaw Due to Covid-19

The Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) has cancelled the World of Coffee Warsaw trade show scheduled to take place 15-17 October in Warsaw, Poland due to ongoing health and safety concerns relating to Covid-19.

In March, the SCA announced that World of Coffee Warsaw, originally scheduled to take place in June 2020, would be postponed to October due to the ongoing pandemic. In July, the SCA officially cancelled the 2020 World Coffee Championships, which had been scheduled to take place in Melbourne, Australia and Warsaw.

According to the SCA, the decision to cancel the 2020 World of Coffee (WOW) was made after consulting with exhibitors, its partners at the PTAK Warsaw Expo venue, and other local business partners. WOC is currently scheduled to travel to Athens, Greece in June 2021 and the SCA plans to bring WOC to Warsaw in June 2022.

If you registered to attend or exhibit at the 2020 WOC, please check your inbox for an email with information about an automatic credit of monies paid towards the 2021 World of Coffee in Athens. If you have not received an email, reach out to the SCA’s events team. For attendee questions, contact Manu Varanattu at [email protected], and for exhibitor questions, contact Margaret Andreucetti at [email protected].

In a letter to SCA members and exhibitors, Yannis Apostolopoulos, CEO of the SCA, said, “I want to say thank you to every single one of our exhibitors, attendees, volunteers, and sponsors for your patience and understanding as we navigate a tumultuous year of events. Our industry is demonstrating its resilience and determination. Together we will weather this storm and find ourselves much stronger when we next meet in person.”
