About us

Located just outside Milan, we are Metroz Essences SpA, a historic Italian flavour house serving clients worldwide. Since the 1950s, we have upheld our tradition of crafting bespoke flavourings for the food and beverage industry. Operating internationally from Italy’s economic and fashion capital, we combine heritage, creativity and technical excellence to deliver high-quality flavour solutions tailored precisely to our clients’ needs.

Our Coffee Department is entirely dedicated to the development of flavourings for coffee and tea. Within it, our specialised CoffeeLab is equipped with state-of-the-art technology to rigorously evaluate products and processes, ensuring precision at every stage. This enables us to create customised flavourings that enhance every format — from whole beans and ground coffee to capsules and pods. Our expertise extends from flavoured espresso, cappuccino and latte macchiato to ready-to-drink (RTD) coffees and teas, matcha, chai creations, and traditional brewing methods such as Turkish and Arabic coffee.

Our portfolio includes natural, organic, clean label and rainforest-certified flavourings. Whether designed for syrups, dairy applications or plant-based alternatives such as soya and oat drinks, each blend is developed with individuality, consistency and uncompromising quality in mind.
