The Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) has announced that World of Coffee Europe will take place June 17-19, 2027 at the Lisbon Exhibition and Congress
Centre (FIL), marking the first time a World of Coffee event has taken place in Portugal.

World of Coffee Lisbon will be one of several World of Coffee events held around the world in 2027, continuing the mission of the global trade show series to unite the specialty coffee industry in advancing coffee excellence while fostering business growth, professional development, and strategic networking through education, innovation, and collaboration. The Lisbon Exhibition and Congress Centre (FIL) will serve as the official event location, situated in the dynamic Parque das Nações district, one of Lisbon’s most vibrant and well-connected neighbourhoods. The venue combines contemporary space with flexible event infrastructure, offering plenary halls, breakout spaces, one-stop-shop service, and state-of-the-art facilities.
With excellent access from Lisbon’s international airport and a wealth of hotels, local transportation hubs, dining, and cultural attractions within easy reach, FIL provides an exceptional environment for international business and collaboration.

Lisbon has emerged as one of Europe’s most celebrated destinations, recognized for its culture, connectivity, and growing international profile. Portugal’s position as a historic bridge between Europe, Latin America, and Africa gives Lisbon a unique resonance for a global gathering of coffee professionals.

“World of Coffee exists to bring our global industry together in
a way that creates real value for businesses, for professionals, and for the future of specialty coffee,” said Yannis Apostolopoulos, CEO of the Specialty Coffee Association. “Lisbon is a city that understands that kind of exchange. It sits at the intersection of cultures and trade relationships that are fundamental to our value chain, and it has a coffee culture as authentic as the city itself. This is the type of environment where the most transformative thinking thrives. The conversations at World of Coffee Lisbon will shape how our industry innovates, collaborates, and builds the resilience and sustainability that specialty coffee demands in the years ahead.

Portugal’s place on the world coffee map, as both a nation with deep-rooted coffee culture and a gateway to some of the industry’s most important producing regions, makes this edition one that extends well beyond the show floor. Lisbon’s café scene reflects both that tradition and an increasingly sophisticated approach to specialty coffee, with a growing community of roasters, baristas, and coffee businesses raising the standard of the craft. This makes Lisbon a natural stage for the highest levels of specialty coffee competition

World of Coffee Lisbon 2027 will host three competitions, the World Latte Art Championship, the World Coffee in Good Spirits Championship, and Cezve/Ibrik Championship. The competitions will take place live on the show floor, bringing together regional champions from across the world to compete at the highest level of their craft. The World Latte Art Championship celebrates the precision, creativity, and technical mastery that define the art of espresso-based beverages, while the World Coffee in Good Spirits Championship sits at the
intersection of coffee and cocktail culture. The Cezve/Ibrik Championship brings a different dimension to the competition program, celebrating one of the oldest traditions in coffee preparation. Champions in each discipline will be crowned on the final day of the show.
