FNC moves ExpoEspeciales back a day

The Colombian Coffee Federation (FNC) announced that ExpoEspeciales Café de Colombia, which was scheduled to take place 4-7 October 2016, will now take place 5-8 October 2016.

The Bogotá-based FNC said that due to logistical reasons derived from the peace referendum vote in Colombia, which occurs on Sunday, 2 October, the specialty coffee trade show, ExpoEspeciales Café de Colombia 2016, will move back one day, to open on 5 October and run through the 8th.

The expo will still be held in the International Business and Exhibition Center (Corferias), in Bogotá, and will feature a broad range of activities, such as the first National Coffee Quality Competition, “Colombia, Land of Diversity” (with the respective auction of winning coffees to national and international bidders) and the National Barista and Cup Taster Championships, among others.

ExpoEspeciales Café de Colombia will host coffee growers, baristas, cup tasters, exporters, suppliers, coffee shop owners, traders and roasters to highlight and showcase the great diversity of Colombian coffees, featuring differential attributes of exceptional quality.

Topics in the academic agenda include: The Coffee Genome Project, Profitability Begins on the Coffee Farm, the La Niña Event, Coffee Supply and Demand in the World, Talking to the New Generations about Specialty Coffees: Millennials and Coffee Consumption and more.

Coffee professionals from all over the world will attend and have the opportunity to network with more than 1,000 producers from all the regions of Colombia. English translation will be available.
