Catalyst Consulting launches Catalyst Trade
Catalyst Coffee Consulting has launched Catalyst Trade, a majority Ethiopian-owned coffee importing and export services provider in partnership with Zelalem Girma and other Ethiopian shareholders.
Led by co-founder, Emily McIntyre, whose background includes founding and managing coffee subscription Crema.co and a wide variety of other coffee projects, Catalyst Trade is built on foundational principles of equality, excellence, and innovation.
Other key team members include co-founder Michael McIntyre in the role of sourcing manager and Zelalem Girma as relationships manager.
Building on their success partnering with Ethiopian producers to import coffees that have made waves globally (three of fifteen 2019 Good Food Award-winning coffees were sourced by Catalyst, among many other recognitions and awards), the team at Catalyst is focusing entirely on Ethiopian coffee. The goal is simple: shift the way coffee is traded toward better profit distribution and social equity.
Roasters wanting to dive deeper into purchasing Ethiopian coffee in a relational way, and those who value documentation and long-term sustainability, may reach out to Catalyst on Instagram at @catalyst.coffee or online at www.catalyst-trade.
