Nationally recognized as a premier U.S. tea festival, the Northwest Tea Festival, will again delight long-time tea lovers and new fans alike, with over 10 stage presentations, 30 workshops and 50 tea tasting experiences, led by some of the most premier tea experts in the country. The interest and fascination with tea keeps on growing and so have we with our newer, bigger venue at Seattle Center, the Exhibition Hall! Attendees will be immersed in cultural experiences—tasting and learning all about tea, plus have a great shopping opportunity with access to local vendors as well as nationally respected tea vendors. The festival will be held September 28 & 29, 2019 in the Exhibition Hall at Seattle Center, 305 Harrison Street, Seattle, WA 98109.
The Northwest Tea Festival attracts growers, international importers and tea specialists to teach, offer tastings and deliver varied cultural experiences to an expected 3,000 attendees. The goal is to provide experiences covering all aspects of tea, from the cultural to the historical and the sensory to the scientific. As tea is the world’s most popular drink second only to water, it proves to be a natural connection to the world: everyone who attends gets immersed in this collective tea culture! The Northwest Tea Festival truly has something for all ages.
Entry to the Northwest Tea Festival is $15 for a two-day pass. No worries about bringing a cup for tasting: the ticket price includes a porcelain tasting teacup, a reusable shopping bag, lectures, tea tastings and access to many vendors with wonderful teas for sampling—everything you’ll need for a “tea-licious” day! Select workshops may require additional fees. Seating for workshops is limited and pre-registration for some workshops and additional program information will be available on the festival’s website, www.nwteafestival.com. Hours for the Tea Festival are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 29.
Some of our popular programming includes:
- Tea Ceremony demonstrations
- A full line-up of presentations and workshops on tea and related topics
- Our perennially favorite tea tastings – try familiar teas and discover new favorites!
- A unique and much loved “tea bar” with tastings throughout both days of the Festival
