Nestlé Nespresso opened a pop-up store in Tokyo from 17-21 July, where visitors could enjoy free iced coffee or iced café latte, as part of their global campaign, “Press Play & Taste.” The event was part of several pop up stores Nespresso launched around the world to celebrate its Summer 2025 collection.
This year, Nespresso is bringing back its most beloved iced coffee creations, introducing new limited-edition coffees flavours, and designing its machines and accessories with a bold, alluring colour palette. The Tokyo store featured Nespresso’s signature colours of pistachio and pastel yellow, and featured a nostalgic entertainment machine, a UFO catcher, which was popular in the 1990s.
Designed with city breaks and on-the-go lifestyles in mind, Nespresso created a playful, yet nostalgic and retro-inspired universe with its seasonal collection. The standout addition this summer is the Pistachio Vanilla Over Ice coffee, which has been crafted to be savoured over ice.
Nespresso’s coffee capsules and single serve coffee machines are designed to help every household make a wide variety of coffee with the press of a button. The first floor of the pop-up store offered six types of iced coffee and café latte to take away, each was brewed using a Vertuo coffee machine. The iced coffee menu included Pistachio Vanilla Over Ice flavour, which was launched in May 2025, as well as Coconut Vanilla Over Ice flavour.
On the second floor, a special cold item called Glacé Pilée à la Nespresso was sold. It contained pistachio-flavoured shaved ice on coffee jelly made from the Pistachio Vanilla Over Ice.
To celebrate this special occasion, Nespresso coffee ambassador, Rika Ueno, created and demonstrated a new recipe using the Pistachio Vanilla Over Ice. The drink featured layers of milk, vanilla syrup, ice cubes, Pistachio Vanilla Over Ice espresso coffee and cold, foamed milk. The rim of the glass was decorated with pistachio paste and crushed, roasted pistachios.
