Demus Achieves Halal Certification for Decaf Coffee

Demus SpA announced that it has obtained the Halal certification for its products. The business covers third-party decaffeination, sale of green decaffeinated coffee, and production of raw natural caffeine.

By obtaining this certification, Demus makes it possible for its clients to expand to Islamic markets. Working mainly as a contractor, Demus has chosen to obtain a certification according to all available standards, in order to give the widest opportunity to export the product to any Islamic country. This certification has been obtained from the Halal International Authority (HIA – certification body according to ISO 17065:2012).

The Trieste, Italy-based company, which has been focused on guaranteeing high standards with a Total Quality view, also has the following certifications:

• Kosher (Religious certification for Jewish markets – since 1999),
• ISO 9001 (Quality Management System – since 1999),
• ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System – since 2010),
• OHSAS 18001 (Occupational Health and Safety Management System – since 2016)
