Key Technology Hires Boutsikaris
Key Technology, a designer and manufacturer of process automation systems, integrated electro-optical inspection and sorting and processing systems, appointed John Boutsikaris senior vice president of sales and marketing. Boutsikaris, who has more than 30 years of sales and marketing experience, spent 27 years with Agilent Technologies/Hewlett-Packard in a variety of sales and channel management roles. Most recently, he was executive vice president of worldwide sales and marketing for Pemstar Corp. “We’re excited to have John join the team of Key Technology. He has an extensive background with both direct and indirect channels and with the development of new channels and new ventures,” Kirk Morton, president and c.e.o. of Key Technology said. Boutsikaris stated that he is “eager to begin developing a long-term growth strategy.”
Torani Names Peart
Torani has hired Jane Verdurmen Peart for the newly created position of product management director.

Peart’s key responsibilities will include managing Torani’s product selection process, facilitating development and creating go-to-market strategies for a breadth of line extensions and new product categories. She will work closely with marketing, sales, and research and development to ensure the launch and success of innovative new products.

“For 80 years, the Torani brand has been synonymous with the most flavorful products and beverage innovation,” says c.e.o. Melanie Dulbecco. “From introducing the Italian soda to America in the 1920s to inventing the flavored latte in the 1980s, Torani continues to push the flavor envelope,” she adds. “Jane brings the perfect combination of experience and passion to Torani, and is the ideal person to lead our product innovation efforts. Her range of product management expertise, innovative nature and enthusiasm will propel us to our next eight decades of success,” says Dulbecco.

Prior to joining the Torani team, Peart was managing partner at VENT Design, an awarding winning industrial design consultancy whose work is included in the permanent collections of The Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Smithsonian Institution. At VENT, where clients include Apple Computer, Nike, and Bell Sports, Peart managed the complete development cycle for products as diverse as High Definition Televisions (HDTVs), equestrian equipment and office furniture.

Merisant Appoints Nocchiero
Merisant Worldwide, Inc. (manufacturers of Equal sugar) and its affiliated subsidiaries have appointed Anthony J. Nocchiero c.f.o. Nocchiero was previously responsible for managing a worldwide finance and accounting team while serving as vice president and c.f.o. of BP Chemicals, a $10 billion global chemicals business. Prior to that role, he was vice president and controller of Amoco Corp., a multi-national oil, gas and petrochemical company. Paul Block, c.e.o. of Merisant Worldwide, Inc., stated: “Tony is a proven executive with the experience to help lead Merisant in its effort to expand globally and compete in new markets.”
Kent St. Clair Donovan,
July 17, 2005, age 57

Kent St. Clair Donovan spent 33 years working for the coffee industry. The first 25 years were spent at the Donovan Coffee Company, manufacturers of Red Diamond Coffee and Tea, which was founded by his grandfather, William Fitz Donovan, in 1906. The Donovan family sold the company in 1991. He then developed the gourmet coffee division for Royal Cup Coffee in Alabama, and served as the president of that division from 1991 - 1999.

Aside from his contributions to the coffee industry, Donovan was also a songwriter. After his retirement from the coffee industry, he was active in the local music scene. He played with different bands and taught piano lessons at Balley Brothers Music Company.

Among his many achievements, Donovan was a director of the Epilepsy Foundation and a director of the Jefferson Alcoholics’ Foundation. He also served as the president of the Southern Coffee Association.

He is survived by wife, Jackie Ann Drake Donovan, son, Robert Donovan, daughters Brooke Donovan Abola, and Emily Donavan, their families, and his brothers, Marvin Mason Donovan, William Fitz Donaovan and Jefferson Flowers Donovan.
