New Flavors Spice Up Oregon Chai
Oregon Chai is launching two new products: Chocolate Chai and Not-
So-Sweet Chai. Chocolate Chai combines Oregon Chai’s sweet, spicy
chai recipe and Ghirardelli cocoa, creating a smooth alternative to
mochas and hot chocolate. Not-So-Sweet Chai is a low sugar beverage
with a light, mildly sweet flavor. The new products join Oregon Chai’s
line of “just add milk” concentrates.
“As we innovate, we’re very conscious of consumer needs and
preferences-existing consumers and potential customers as well,”
says Heather Howitt, c.e.o. “Chocolate Chai is a fantastic flavor that
will also attract people unfamiliar with chai. Not-So-Sweet Chai is a
great product that will also appeal to those watching sugar in their
diets.”
The firm’s first product, Original Chai, continues to lead both
the chai and tea categories, states the company.
Chocolate Chai and Not-So-Sweet Chai are made with organic
and all-natural ingredients. The two newest offerings by Oregon Chai

Teaports Tea Company, started in 1992 by the same people who
founded Stash and Tazo tea companies in Portland, Oregon, has
launched two new lines of teas. Their Star of India teas are organic
pure Indian teas, and their Empire teas are Russian tea blends.
Star of India teas are grown on organic tea estates inspected
and chosen by Teaports for both the quality of their products and the
quality of life of their workers. Star of India’s Organic Green and
Organic Black teas come from the Korundah Estate, situated at an
elevation of 5,000 feet in Tamil Nadu in the south of India. The
Organic Green Tea and Lemon Grass and the Organic Black Tea and
Mint Leaves versions are from the Makaibari Estate, in the
Himalayas in Darjeeling.
Star of India also manufactures a line of chaiwalla basket tea
service, hammered copper teapots, clay chai cups and more, all
designed in the Indian crafts tradition.
Based on Russia’s own traditional tea blends, Empire tea ranges
