SCAA Reveals Coffee Market Statistics

The Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA) recently released their “Specialty Coffee at Retail: Size of Market” estimates for the year end of 2001. See below for these valuable figures.

The Kona Coffee Cultural Festival was recently recognized at the Keep It Hawaii 2002 Awards with a certificate of merit in the events category. The Keep It Hawaii program was created in 1990 to allow the Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau a way to formally recognize businesses, organizations and individuals whose year-round work perpetuate and preserve Hawaii’s culture for its visitors.

For the past 32 years the Kona district has hosted the unique Kona Coffee Cultural Festival, the oldest food festival in the state. Residents, farmers, visitors and kamaaina return year after year to the Kona Coffee Cultural Festival to celebrate and honor the traditions and heritage that are the heart of Kona coffee. The relationship between Kona coffee farmers and visitors blossomed into the first wave of agricultural tourism - a direct result of 32 years of Kona Coffee Cultural Festival promotions.
